And he’s putting the story on YouTube. I’ve only watched the first two so far, but I like them. No flash, no glamour. Just a normal guy restoring a neat  car on a budget.

Ha! I JUST discovered and watched this entire series so far this morning! I’m not a huge GM fan, but I love quirky and weird stuff with character, and, for it’s time, the Fiero had that! :)

This is pretty cool; I’m not really a fiero guy but I can appreciate it for sure. I may have to watch the rest of the series (or as much as is out?) at some point.

As some one who also has an odd 80s car that’s probably way more trouble than it’s worth, I can very much understand and support and understand the struggle

Cool proj ect. Looks like he’s got the right idea, washing all that crap off before really getting into it. It’s a little counterintui tive , as tha t would seem to be that last thing on anyone’s list, but it really does make a difference in helping the wrenching go smoother. I hope there aren’t any nasty surprises ahead .

Nice video series. cool to see someone taking the initiative and digging in.

It would be sorely tempting to start dismantling the vehicle down to the space frame, pulling the engine, and prepping for full restoration... rubber parts, electrical, cooling... steam-cleaning and repainting as it goes back together.

The car probably isn’t worth it... but oh, well.

But then again, I would probably resto-mod, with bigger brakes, 5x114 rather than 5x100 hubs and wheels, GTP/Z34 engine swap, Fastback-Formula style, (GT ground effects delete, except for the rear bumper, formula/base front bumper cover) preferably with T-tops... maybe on an 88 donor, or an 87 space frame with an 88 rear subframe and suspension both front and rear. (pre-88 space frames are slightly wider in the upper engine bay with the earlier suspension strut mounts, IIRC). and a nice staggered-width 17-18" wheel fitment with modern tires. Maybe a less dated dashboard, if possible.
